Welcome to the Chester County Library System Strategic Planning Wiki
October 13, 2009
Staff from all over Chester County had the opportunity to see and work with the draft plan at CCLS Staff Development Day on October 12. The presentation CCLS Evolves is here. Several people expressed interest in learning about the Prezi tool used to develop it: http://www.prezi.com.

July 21, 2009: Staff Survey #2 has been launched. This survey will help us to identify a set of Guiding Principles (or Operating Values) to support the plan's implementation. John Venditta has emailed System Directors with the survey link, and they'll be sharing that link with all staff. When results are available, we'll post them to the wiki.

June 17, 2009: The Steering Committee met on June 16 to review the data and produce a set of draft goals and objectives. Over the next two weeks or so, staff will be asked to suggest and evaluate strategies for accomplishing the goals and objectives.
One thing you may notice about this plan is that it does not yet suggest specific user groups that should be targeted for new and improved services. The Steering Committee is gathering the most current data before further discussion of target groups (such as children, students, teens, seniors, immigrants, job seekers, and so on).

May 18, 2009: The document we produced at the Search conference has been uploaded:
Draft Common Ground May 16.docx
The Steering Committee will be working together to integrate these ideas with the other data we've gathered and produce the plan document.
Many thanks to all who have contributed their ideas, time, and energy to get us to this point!

This wiki has been developed by the CCLS Strategic Planning Steering Committee to inform the library's stakeholders about the strategic planning process and results.
The Steering Committee wants to involve as many of the library's stakeholders as possible in the planning process. Some of the activities planned include online surveys of library staff and Board members, along with focus groups representing specific segments of the community. The culminating activity will be a Search Conference--a highly-designed large-group planning conference in which about 100 community stakeholders will be invited to participate. You can read more about all these activities, follow our progress in planning them, see the results, and comment on any and all parts of the process by following this wiki.
We welcome comments, suggestions, and questions--so please feel free to add yours on any page. We ask only that you follow the Acceptable Use Guidelines.
